And now for something completely different

Let's face it. Between the World Cup, and Father's Day picnics- no one is on line. And I've been writing some real sad stuff. So- here's a story about a woman who is supposedly bipolar and left 6 million Pounds  (11 million US dollars) to her dog in her will. I don't know how reliable the Sun is for anything other than their famous "Page Three Girls" but, all I can say to the son is- dust off your copy of Shakespeare- Re read "King Lear". "How sharper than a serpent's tooth to have an ungrateful child".

Maybe mom felt the dog was a better child than you.

And for the record, I have money in MY will going to what ever cats and dogs I will have at the time of my death, so they will always be cared for. It's not because I am bipolar. It's because I don't want them put down.

I would certainly leave money to my dog-- she has been there for me through everything and she is nonjudgmental and affectionate. I don't know what else I could ask for.

Thanks for sharing this story.

Wishing you well,

I am doing the same thing. I don't want anything to happen to my animals.

That's a great story. I can see why it's a good idea to see to it that pets are cared for after one passes, but I don't know that I'll leave anything to the hermit crabs in my will.

@Nos, thank you. That's how I feel about my cat.

@Hannah, blogging is a great way to clear the demons and doesn't add calories like the other way- chocolate. Glad you popped by. Keep blogging!

@Syd, glad you are the same page as me. I just know too many people who put their relatives animals down because they don't want to deal with them.

@Chronic- you can leave them to Holly but she has them covered in tartar sauce. ;)

My husband told me the story. We are both animal lovers. The deceased's son is suing- he ONLY got a million of the 25 mil. I don' know if this is the same story but this is one my hubby told me this week. We had the same reaction. The dogs were probably there for her through thick and thin.

I don't know what I would do without my animals. They are the backbone of the family more often than not. Solid, unconditional lovers, ready to do whatever the day calls for. Cuddle? OK! Walk? OK!
Our lives revolve around them more than we care to admit.

@Kristin, I was thinking it was Leona Helmsley all over again, but you know at the end of the day, it's your money, and if you want to leave it to the dog or cat instead of the child - that is your business. The child got more money than most of us will ever see in our live times.

My cat, would go through that in a weekend I think ordering up fishies and other delicacies. ;=)

Susan, Holly should be advised that the hermies are highly trained and ruthless in self-defense.
